my buddy started off as a porter like you then moved up to be a tech real quick. why do they call him a tech? i dont know, bleeding brakes really isn't technical. but yea, you gotta be certified to actually do the real mechanic stuff, especially working at a dealership ;)

Um I work at Honda and when I started to work for Honda at a different dealership about 3 and 1/2 years ago I was not certified for anything and I started as a C line tech I am now a A line tech and I have been certified by Honda but only to do recalls and certain Honda specific jobs, I have not been trained by Honda to do about 90% of the work I do, I learned all that on my own before and after I started to work for them.

You can go to a dealership and start off as a Tech and not know anything about cars and become a Master Tech if you so wish to do so. NO ONE is born with knowning anything about cars, some people pick up things faster than others, anyone can be a Tech not everyone can be a great Tech.

^second that... well about learning the tech stuff... sometimes you just gotta learn things hands on..

thats awesome, i want to try to get a job as a mechanic at the local dealership, once while waiting for my parts i helped a guy(for a second or two) get the engine outa some kind of honda minivan haha. Im a MAVERICK, so if anyone needs help pulling a minivan motor, just holler at me  .

and btw, whats the big deal about MILANO RED? i just see everyone with a red civic has this MILANO RED thing displayed, is it like a rare color or something, whats the real name for the green i have?

Dina
