just wondering if royal purple is good as many people are making it? what does it really do and does it really make a difference in B series motors?

it is a great oil. the reason why it is much better, is because of its high film strength and its great lubrication properties. it lasts longer than most other oils and it reduces friction by (i think) about like 80%. there are many other great things about it. check their site for some better info.

Have you guys tried Mobil 1 and Royal Purple by any chance. I have always put Mobil 1 every oil change, then i tried Royal Purple and did not notice the difference. What do you guys think, could there be a difference between the two. Also, what filters do you guys prefer?

IMO Royal Purple is definitely worth the money.

The previous owner of my car was running synthetic. I drove the car for a week and really wasn't liking my mileage. I changed my oil this past week with Royal Purple and have noticed better mpg and the car feels better when I get on it.

Like I said, I think it's worth the money even though I get it at a discount..keke.

how much of an increase in MPG did you experience? i didnt think it would help that!

Honestly, I don't know how much of an increase it was. I've got a chipped ECU that eliminates a few sensors, which really disagrees with gas mileage so it wasn't great when I got the car. I could put $10 in and that shit would be gone in 2-3 days of me just driving back and forth to work. I put $10 in 2 days ago after the oil change and the needle hasn't moved much. I think I'll be able to go at least 3-5 more days on this gas before I put another $10 in (that's how I roll lol, $10 at a time).

honestly royal purple works great... pricey for someone like me since i change my oil every month... even if the 3000 miles are not met... i have to change it... so even the MOBIL 1 syn. gets pricey but i would recomend it to anyone..

I just use regular mobile oil and a Genuine Honda filter. I have not had any problems with it and in Chrissy's car I have not seen a difference in the Miles per tank. She gets about 220 miles average per gas tank.

I've used Royal Purple, Redline synthetic, and Mobil 1. I like the Royal Purple a lot better. My car felt like it pulled a little harder. Either that or vtec sounded a little louder. It is a little expensive nowadays. Also for some reason I haven't been able to find any Royal Purple or Redline at the Post Exchange. So I am using Mobil 1 now. I also use a K&N oil filter

My 95 coupe has got the D16Y8.. I used Mobile 1 this month, and went from 34 highway, to 36 highway.. so ya I'd suggest using it.. I used the highmileage stuff because I work at O'Reilly's and I get it for 2 bucks a quart, even though my motor only has 70,000 on it. but yes, its good stuff.
