been wanting to do a RHD conver but im not sure if i really do.. driven them and its funny as hell to see people looking at you like WTF!... i just dont trust to many people... Suja how bad was it to convert?
it's not that hard... very time consuming and expensive - parts and labor. all 3 parts of the conversion is difficult. disassemble, convert, reassemble. i guess disassembling the front end is the easiest part. we pulled the motor, all the lines, dash, wiring, carpet, windshield, subframe, steering rack, suspension, etc. then the transferring of the firewall. drilled out all the spot welds on the ek9 firewall and the si firewall and welded the ek9 firewall to the si. then reassembling the front end. disassembly in reverse order. the end result is a bunch of ooohs and aaahs.
poom, sorry if this post might somewhat be hijacking your thread. let me know if you want my posts deleted.

i wanna import a coupe when i start my business, i could write it off, the easiest way to make it street legal is to put a dealer tag on it, that's all you have to do

yeah, but if you ever get in a wreck of some sort & the insurance company/police dept. find out what you did....you're screwed.

hmmm, compared to the cost of importing one, and the hassle that comes with it, 5k isnt really that bad.

Nice.......
anyone got pics of the interior of a RHD like the trunk release and any other pieces that might be different?
donut.
07-26-2006, 11:38 AM
it comes with the clip
you need that trunk/gas latch release. you also need a longer gas latch cable (theres a way to make your own). the trunk cable is long enough to relocate to the right side
you also need the brackets off the clip that hold the dash support bar
you need that support bar, steering column, pedal assembly
you also need the whole rhd heater core/blower/etc. (i chose not to put it in)
rhd subframe and steering rack...also need the rhd throttle cable as its longer unless you have itb's.
if you chose to use ps, then you need that too.
you need the wiper's/motor and the cowel
and of course, you need the dash/center console
im sure i forgot some things but you get the picture...
also, on rhd's, the antenna's are on the right side too, so you might look stupid w/ a manual antenna on the left side. just a thought
LOL the antenna thing is funny as hell can you see it now LOL
