I've been hearing from people that an OBD I is better for bolt on mods than an OBD II because OBD II has an error corretion setting that will always try to remap your ECU. (I.E. Putting in an intake, I tries to remap the A/F ratio to keep the performance level close to stock.) And OBD I only resets when you pull the battery, but never remaps to that extreme. So essentially OBD I gives you the full increases from your upgrades.

Does anyone know if this is true or not...?

obd 1 is just easier.. as far as ecu modding, less possible check engines... my gsr right now throws a code for running to rich... and its the stock fuel system... no mods to it.. but i am runnin a type r ecu.. the gsr comps that i find are bad.. (i am running obd2) i might go to a gsr mapped p28

OBD-1 responds better to bolt-on's...less restrictions

they're easier to hack too, i have a p06 i wanna get chipped and socketed for my girl's car. she's already got a laptop too. check out pgmfi.org, there's a ton of info on ecus and tuning.

as far as wiring goes yes obd1 is easier, however on JDM motors you can use mostly obd1 parts and they work just fine;) for example im running a obd1 dizzy on my b18c that is obd2a. and yes obd2 is FAR more complex.

obd2 error codes=like 80 or 90+
obd1 error codes=less than 40

yes....
I heard it's far more easier to mod an OBDI than the OBDII
