Another great site to check out for help is www.d-series.org
Ok upgrading your intake manifold is a great idea...also look into upgrading your internals as well! You should probably wait on the downpipe until you get your turbo setup!
What turbo/kit were you thinking of getting?

I was thinking of going for a GReddy kit, are they n e good? Yeah i 4got the down pipe would have to be changed when the turbo goes on. Do you know n e good makes of intake parts and i want to upgrade the cam aswell to a stage 1.

Greddy kits are good for beginners especially! Edlebrock and Skunk2 make good intake manifolds...as far as "intake parts" go...when you get the kit I believe it comes with all the charge pipes etc so you won't have to worry about that! So if you don't already have an intake don't waste your money on it if you're going to boost her soon!

No I said upgrade the intake manifold...just not the intake...do you understand the difference between the two?
If you're boosting then upgrading your internals is definately a good idea!

Oh sorry i miss read ur last post, my bad. You mean change the intake manifold but not the throttle body (intake). Yeah well im looking into a skunk2 intake manifold and a stage 1 skunk2 cam. Will the cars standard ECU be alright as it is with a stage 1 cam or will i need to get it re-mapped?

also if i remember right, turboing the d17 is a huge pain ibecause it has no fuel return. so you cant adjust fuel pressure without piggybacking the ecu and adding extra injectors. add that to the fact that the d17 is the only engine in the d-series family that doesnt have the ability to swap heads with other motors, and that it has no spark plugs or distributer means that the d17 is a bit harder to get reliable hp out of than other d-series motors.
definately check out 7thgencivic.com that site has tons of great info
