Im lookin to upgrade headlights on my 99 ex. Not trying to spend $1000 on real type r's. Saw some replicas on e-bay. Some have amber corners and some do not. I personally like the amber corners. Also some are black housing and some look like the outer lens is covered in like window tint.just wondering what u guys think. Also amber fogs or clear? Open to all opinions

you can find used CTR headlights for around $350. I would save for some CTR they look way better than some fake replicas

really. I like both types of fogs. I personally like how the jdm fogs look. They are different. They stand out more. Also the CTR headlights have no amber reflector, and no casper shield. Also they have city lights. Well you get the headlights you need to get 2 sockets and 2 wedge bulbs. See the small light there.. That is the city light. Also the ebay headlights, replicas or whatever look too smokey and aren't very clear, they have amber reflectors. I find them distasteful. That's just my .02 Do what you do

what my boy did on his he bought aftermarket ones with the gunmetal housing and then heated the cover off then reasealed them with the original cover so they look real and they came out off...

Im going to agree to disagree..

Yes and no, Our cars are not actually JDM so stretching our money for replicas isnt so bad given you pay "enough" for a decent set and not the cheapest shit on the market.

I found mine for my 5th gen @ $100/ w Vision corners .. JDMshit.com has the same exact sets sold separately @ $150 for the lights and $50 for the corners not including shipping.

Sometimes you can get lucky bro, you just have to know where to look. I looked at ebay and had the best luck ever with that purchase.

i am in your position. i have a red ej8. i have chrome dual angel eye projectors. they look nice an work real well. however my buddy (owns a shop) just ordered a few sets of the black headlight. i told him i want to see them first then think of buying them if they look good i will get them yea they are a knockoff but for 60 bucks i am down for that. they are 160 originally but he said if i give him my projectors he will give me the black headlights for 60. sooo. cant really beat that. also i get my fogs in friday. i ordered the yellow oem style fogs. I WOULD DEF IMO GET THE YELLOW. THEY STAND OUT AND LOOK REALLY REALLY GOOD IMO. HOWEVER IF YOU DO DON'T GET THE FAKE ONES. THEY HAVE PAINTED LENSES INSTEAD OF A REAL YELLOW LENSE. ITS HARD TO TELL BUT YOU WILL KNOW AFTER A WHILE. BEWARE OF CHEAP PRODUCTS. SOMETIMES THEY ARE OK BUT MOST OF THE TIME YOU WILL BE BUYING A REPLACEMENT SOONER OR LATER!!! all IMO

Hey ur not the only one/ I have some headlights, no necessarity type r knock offs, but they are black housing. I really like them but I think I should find some type r ones. They r just so sexy and I can't turn them down.

My jdm parts dealer doesn't get much ctr parts anymore. Sucks but I guess I gotta turn to password jdm and ebay lol

I know that the real CTR headlights are the way to go...but 350-550ish is still a tough bullet to bite just for headlights. Any good knock-off brands because i want to get a pair for my EJ.

i just paid $300 for my new SiR headlights. yes, they are expensive, but you might as well spend the money once and be happy. if you buy knockoffs, most likely they will get foggy inside and the outside will probably oxidize. pretty much they'll look like shit, and you won't be happy. don't cheap out, spend the money:TU:

1,894,233,986% agree with you on that. Couldn't have said it better. No maintenance to my CTR headlights ever. Never had to re-seal them, buff them or had problems with discoloration. Soon I plan on buying clear Lamin-x covers to protect them from rock chips and such.

i suppose a good knock-off brand is more or less an oxymoron
