i don't know about 1/4 mile times, i've never been to the strip and i don't drag race. but it'll be way quicker than your D, believe me. the B18A in my DA is great though, pulls hard from down low all the way to redline, i can spin the tires from a roll at like 2k rpm. no special work either, just i/h/e and some weight reduction.
this thread might help

I have a question, what kind of motor comes in a 1995 Integra?? I was racing a guy with one all night. He kept saying he had a B18, but never knew what else. I have a D16Y8 with i/h/e, mild cam, flywheel.. dont know the specs, but my uncle built it for me. But I beat the integra 3 outa 3 times. When we got done i popped the hood of my 95 coupe and everyone's Jaw dropped at the sight of a D wooping a B series. I thought maybe I beat the B18 becuase maybe it wasnt a VTEC?? I dunt know anything about b series motors, so someone let me know. Or do my mods make it better than a stock b18? I havent got the slightest clue.

his motor would be a b18b1 94-01 integra....i have raced a few and they always get the jump on me at the start cause they make about 127 ftq if im not mistaken....but i always start to pull them around the top end...end of 2nd all the way threw 3rd...it also comes down to the driver as well..gotta remember that of course

i agree.....they are alright n/a....but i can hang with most n/a b18b's and im just n/a as well...i raced a b18b1 turbo once about a year ago and the difference was like night and day....if i remember right they can make around 250-300whp on stock interals...

Outkast Jon ran 15.0 with his B18B so don't really clown on those..
As far as what motor he had, most likely he has a b18b. The others I've known with B18b run a high 15 quarter.
B18B is the eco version of the B series but it has the largest displacement. With a VTEC head or FI, that block is a monster.
back on topic, most likely the car you drove against was a b18b, but please refrain from anything that sounds like street illegal activities on here. The other mods will be mad.

Ya, ya, ya.. B18b must have been it. He kept saying he wanted a GSR head... I was like whatever. The day after I raced him at the "STRIP";) I saw a for sale sign on it. I looked under the hood and thats what he had.
B18B.
I just like my d for the fact that it gets 36mpg highway, and has a lot of potential with a turbo build.

i wouldn't sleep on the LS motors, i used to smoke my girls' Y8 with my LS-powered integra, but my DA is also alot lighter, so it's not the best comparison. But my friend's DA has full interior,air-con, and a glass sunroof and it still pulls on her car easily. The main difference is that the LS will rev from down low so by the time the D starts breathing the B is already gone.

lets just leave it at that the b18 is a good decent engine.."for later down the road doch "vtec" " so u have b series mounts shift linkage and axles already. we dont need a d vs b argument on this thread. all im saying is that i havent seen around here (so cal) a decently built n/a b18 non vtec motor..people think that alone..b18b is the shit...and dont continue for power builds from there

i agree, and for the record i never said either was better, i just related my experience with both engines as a comparison. :TU:

sorry i i implied u said it or n e thing...its honda its great ...cuz it cost a bit for the motor swap..to me everything is u get what u pay for. i myself would love to switch over to dohc but funds and gas prices have stopped me from doin so..excellent canidate for a frist time swap...there is no replacment for displacement. confur?

completely agree, i love anything honda so it's all good to me. it's nice to have some variety in engine choice, we could be dsm guys and all have 4g63T's.

Well, believe it or not, but I just bought a 96 del sol:TU: with the B18b in it, although the motor was professionally built by Sonic Boom in New Orleans, bored out , dunno how much, but it will pull from a stop, like u guys said. Its great. hehe, but ya, Vtec or not that 127ftlbs of torque makes that little sol scoot around town pretty good!!:surprised:
I havent had the sol long, but I believe its a bit more fun to drive than the coupe. But of course, the del sol plus a 6 foot tall driver = a "deathtrap" feeling. And considering the coupe carrys 5 ppl and allows for a 7'' driver. The coupe holds its own.
 :honda:  here are some pics of the the sol.
