Which short shifter is the best to buy? Is the buddy club better than the skunk 2? What other shifters are out there that are good? Please give your opinions and feedback if you use a particular style or brand. Also single bend or dual bend?

i have a dc sports single bend, i like it, but I don't have anything to compare it to since my ej1 is my first manual

i just switched out my ebay one w/ a b&m dual bend. It is so much better. smoother, less play while in gear, better in every way. I definately reccomend it. I had the stock shifter before the ebay one and the b&m blows stock out of the water.

ITR ? Does it have a shorter throw or not? Also I have a nrg quick release and my steering wheel sits a bit farther back so I need a shifter that is not to far forward.

I didn't know that nrg came out with that. Is it a short q/r or just a short boss?

Is the buddy club shifter any good or not? I like how its black. But not sure if its worth the money. Do I need to get new shifter bushings?

you dont have to get new shift bushings. You can re-use your old ones as long as they arent falling apart. But you might as well replace them while your changing out the shifter. prothane kits cost like 9 bucks.

is the itr shortshifter anything like the gsr dual bend? because if it bolts to the linkage the same, you will have to modify it. it is too wide for the civic linkage. i found this out because i had to use the bushings from a gsr dual bend for my b&m shifter because i lost my stock one. i had to take a rotozip and cut the bushing sleeve so it would fit. im sure thats all you would have to do w/ the shifter.

well yeah the DOHC shifters are usually bigger.. but in my case remember i have a GSR swap so i dont have to worry about it...

Actually NRG came out with a SLIM Hub to compensate for the large ball bearing Quick Release.
are you guys talking about OEM ITR shifter?
I'm also debating over Short shifters..but I hate the fact that the short shifter sits so low in the interior. I need an extension! I know they sell it too ahha. :)

I have a DC sports, and also have the ES link bushings. I like it, but would like to have a Skunk2 or another steel shifter some day.
I've heard they have a smoother shift than the aluminum ones.

i've got a skunk2 dual bend w/ skunk2 knob. it's been awsome. great feel, nice height, and works great. I had a DC shortshifter before that and I hated it.
Partizan: I heard the same thing when I was researching mine. Between the two I've had shortshifters on my tranny for about 4 years and +60k miles and no problems with the tranny.

Hmm...idk My buddy drives a TSX and his tranny just went out, and he is blaming it on his shorty too. but then again, this guy just does not understand the term maintainence!!!! Out of the four years owning the car, the battery has died four times, he hasn't changed the oil in at least 10,000 miles, he uses 87 octane because he doesn't want to spend any money on gas, he used a crappy DNX cat back system, got it done in TJ, and it MURDERED his cat back to where the honey-comb inside literally fell out and rattles, does most of his work through TJ mechanics, and got the shittiest suspension job ever. The drop is beautiful, but the ride is the worst piece of crap ever. At 60 on the freeway, the whole car rattles!!! Its nuts. My GF's 89 Civic coupe had a better ride!
