Congrats to JDM EJ1 95 on winning the ROTM for September! Ricky Your car is a True inspiration to the site and what many are hoping to achieve! Congrats again!
JDMCC Staff: How did you hear about the Coupe Council and what made you want to be a member?
JDM EJ1 95: i think being on jdmcivic lead me torwards here... i dont quite remember as it was a pretty long time ago..
JDMCC Staff: Tell me about yourself? Do you have kids, a significant other, and or any pets?
JDM EJ1 95: ah... not much to me.. im 19 i have a older sister, mom, dad, 3 year old niece and a few pets i have a girlfriend now but she just went off to school :(...
me and my brother in law built the car..
JDMCC Staff: How did you become interested in cars?
JDM EJ1 95: i have always been since i can remember, my sisters fiance was always around with his camaros and my sister owned a few mustangs and now they have a 03 cobra. I was just very interested as a kid, it seems to pass the time and its very enjoyable for me.
JDMCC Staff: How long have you been in this hobby?
JDM EJ1 95: i would like to say my whole life.. but we all know thats not completely true since driving age is 16... i guess i got truely submerged in the hobby when i was around 14 or so.. a good 5 years we will go with.
JDMCC Staff: Does your car have a name?
JDM EJ1 95: haha my girlfriend gets mad because i call it my baby... and my other lady.. haha
JDMCC Staff: What made you decide on a coupe?
JDM EJ1 95: ive had 2 before this.. this is my third.... i like the styling a lot better and i just like being different from all the bubbles..i would like to get my hands on a 4 door
JDMCC Staff: How did you get into modding cars?
JDM EJ1 95: oh geeze... i dont know really... just probably sparked way back watching other people do it and just being one of those hands on learners as a kid it all just grows on you.
JDMCC Staff: What goals did you have for the car, and did you accomplish them?
JDM EJ1 95: ive had the fast cars that look decent... ive had the decently quick cars that look nice... i wanted the fast car.. that looks really damn good... i also wanted to stay away from the JDM fad and not become a whore like most people now adays... but hey i guess to get respected you have to be.. or at least thats what im getting out of it. car took a lot of time and effort and im proud to say that its mine and i dont think ill ever let it go. I also didnt want anything on the car to be overlooked.. and i think i really did that.. not one part on the car has been untouched which is also a very awesome thing to know that you basically took a car down to its body even more since i took the quarter panels off.. and rebuild it from the ground up..
JDMCC Staff: How do you feel to have won?
JDM EJ1 95: just because the sheer work involved in the car.. its not too flashy and its not insane.. but i think people like it and they respect it.. which to me is way better than having all the jdm parts possible.
JDMCC Staff: Do you have any advice for others in this hobby?
JDM EJ1 95: stay true to yourself and do what you feel is right... patience and hard work pays off.. beleive me..
JDMCC Staff: What will you do now? Maybe go to Disney Land!
JDM EJ1 95: go to school!
JDMCC Staff: Is there anyone you would like to thank?
JDM EJ1 95: My brother in law Peter (the co owner) my parents, my gf, my friend chris for being over helping me all the time.. and eveyrone who had a part in the car..topsetup westlake welding owners choice auto body the countless parts i bought from jegs, honda dealers, summit etc..dtr fab for making a killer product (header)
