its always better to build your bottom end when you're going FI. cause you will be able to boost more... as far as turbo or super..... IMO turbo.. if your a 5 speed. i've seen superchargers on 5 speeds and they do good but the SC gets hot and throws hot air into the motor.. while the Turbo will throw cooler air if ran with a FMIC and thats my .02

Yeah thats true but what are your toughts on the aftercooler systems that the vortech s/c comes with my plans really are to 1st get enough $$ to build the bottom end and cams and camshafts in just for tuning purposes also do a port and polish and a sleeve job while there in there and s/c @ around 9 psi what do you think??? and any references at all would be helpful....thanks:rockon:

correct me if i am wrong but dont superchargers get maxed out at some point, somewhere around 12psi?
maybe thats just roots blowers i cant remember...

if so that might be a consideration.
i cant really be unbiased about it as i have a boosted car, alot of it is personal preference.

however if your going to build the bottom end, to the point of sleeving, headwork, cams, it seems like 9psi on a sc is kind of pointless. i mean your talking about a completely built motor... you could run way more than 9psi and still be reliable, and if you look at everyone making big power its all turbos.

9psi is nothing for a built block... the vortec kit is good... i dont really consider it a SC cause its still a turbo....
