Anyone ever done this combo, this may be my first post here but i frequently post on the local forum around town www.tamparacing.com

I have heard of people swapping the D15B7 (DX) head onto the D15B8 (CX) block and netting a hp of around 103. Just wondering if anyone has thought of or have done this.

Also what headgasket do you think ill need, on d series compression calculators they both have the same thickness and are in the same category. So im thinking either or.

What about the timing belt? Any ideas on that?

Only reason im dealing with these is i got the full CX motor for free and i am in the position to get a port and polished A6 head for $40.00

from what i know you always want to use parts that pertain to the head... all it really is what your doing is making like a DX/SI non vtec motor...it will be better than the CX.. what tranny are you going to use... another thing i have done is using a P28 ecu on a VX and slapping a EX/SI 92-95 tranny that thing actually moves.. if you want to do it a step further get a ZC SOHC block and slap a 96-00 EX head but use a 92-95 EX/SI head gasket make sure you run it with some advancement in timming and you will have a SOHC that will surprise the hell out of people...

Wel i plan on using a P20 LSD (JDM of course) on this set-up.I really wanna do this just because i have the stuff and it will be simple. What do you think about this idea though?

Yea i will, i just need to figure out what head gasket and timing belt to use maybe they are the same. I should just get 2 of each from advance auto parts and check em out.

One thing i just thought of, is the bolt pattern the same on the A6 head as it is to the B8 Block...? :-/...
