I washed my civ yesterday, and haven't noticed at all, I guess cuz I haven't had road rage and needed it, well I went to beep at a buddy's house and no horn. I'm like wtf. I checked the fuse, it's okay, i even replaced it with a new one, just in case. I guess it could be the horn itself, but does anyone have any other suggestions, wiring?? if it ever happened to them??

Also if I have to buy another horn, I think I'm going to go with Hella Supertones, but don't know where to get them for a Honda. anyone know?

Maybe the wires to the horn itself are corroded from all the road salt and mess from winter. I'm not sure where the horn is on EJ8s but it's probably down near the bumper,

Um doesn't your woman have the same car??? lol. I gotta figure out what's wrong with it, cuz I need my horn to beep at a-holes on the road. Especially around here with all the casino goers.

its in the same place the EJ/EG's have them in under the bumper reenforcement

well shouldn't be too hard to figure out cause there is only one wire for the horn lol also check the horn buttons them self to see if they are lose or disconnected or cut

So I lost my horn for 2 days and yesterday I forgot I didn't have a horn and tried to beep at someone and it worked. My god, I don't know what happened, maybe a short, but I have a horn again.

You should get a test light to see if electricity is running through the wire, if it is then it could be the horn itself that does not work, or maybe the grounding in the horn, make sure it is locked in tight because that is it's ground

Should be an easy fix, just track the wire running to it to see if its damaged. It could be the connector came loose too if theres alot of salt there, it could have damaged that.

But it looks like the perfect time to upgrade to a better horn! I have used my horn 1 time in the 2 and some odd years that I have had my car. Its such a wimpy horn that it embarrasses me to honk it.

my girls's POS hyundai had the same problem. People would cut me off on the interstate I'd try to honk and... Nothing. Made me mad. Turns out it was a corroded (spelling) wire. It also did this weird shifting thing. Out of nowhere it would downshift and then go back to normal. One time it did it and it wouldn't stop. We were jerking all the way down the road. Rrrrr Rrrrrr Rrrrrr Rrrrrr....LOL. Thats why we traded it for a HONDA :TU:

I haven't had any problems with my horn since then it works fine. I haven't tried to track the wire or anything, I figure if it breaks again, I'll just go buy hellatones or something. And I understand where you guys are coming from. The Honda horn is so embarrassing to beep. I rather throw up the one finger wave instead of honk at people. lol

Haha, I like how annoying it is, like if you lay on it for 5 seconds or longer, or tap it rapid-fire like a crackhead. Really wakes people up at redlights. I wish mine worked though, I know why it doesn't I'm just too lazy to fix it and I don't wanna put a stock steering wheel back on.

Hahahaha I did the tapping rapid to a guy asleep at a red light back when I first got my car, and he threw his car in reverse :eek:
