new push to start

I just hooked up my new push to start so I thought I would share a picture of it. Left switch is my ignition and right is the push to start. I did this because when the car was stolen the screwed the ignition all up, and this seemed like a more fun way to fix it.

so doesn't this make your car a lot easier to steal now? or do you still need the key in the ignition to start it?

well, i haven't had to many problems with anything being stolen around here before, i figure if someone wants to take something, they will take it no matter as easy or as hard as it is to take.

so im assuming by your response that you dont need the key then?.... why make it easier for thieves to steal your car... the idea behing security things is to make it more dificult so they will not bother to steal it.. all someone has to do now is break a window flip the switch and press the buton... BAD IDEA IMO!! im sure lots of people around here (my hometown) that would love for you to live here, your practically giving them your car now....

well as you can tell by the car its still a project, so i am not to concerned about it. It sits right outside my office during the day, and outside my house at night, Once I am finished I will put an alarm on it or a club or something, but as for now its ok, I didn't really ask for comments on how theft deterrant it is, just what people thought of the mod

looks like a pretty clean install. i'd recommend re-wiring it so that it only works with the key, especially if someone already stole your car, what's to say they won't come back before you get an alarm.

if you read my first post you will see why. When i bought the car the whole tumbler was gone, just three wires hanging. This was much easier way to fix it. Also I am going to hide an ignition cut of switch in the car so that I make the push to start unusable when I want

alright enough with the negative comments I mean its his car and he is the one driving it! I dont think anyone will steal the car again and once the kill switch is installed and hiden no one will be able to start it but him! Good luck with it!

i was just fooling with him.. i even said "just kidding". i had this mod on my crx & when you have the cutoff switch inabled, the push button doesn't work. it is a nice mod, but we had it on a drag only crx, so we did it for track purpose only. nice work hacking into your ignition, it's good to know your car's schematics. kudos

if it was me, i would've gone with a keyed switch, instead of the nato missile switch. that way, you still do have a keyed ignition.

how are you gonna finish it? just paint it? wrap it in vinyl?
