^EXACTLY!!! Think of Torque as a guy with HUGE muscles! He is going to be able to do all the pushing part of the car, however can only run soo fast. Think of HP as a sprinter for the olympics. He is very weak muscle wise, but man can he haul some serious ass!

actually, you're a little off, there. if you wanna stick with body builders, stick with body builders. torque is the guy who can do the massive deadlift. HP is the guy who can do a bajillion reps at a lower weight. if you wanna talk runners, sprinters are torque, they've got alot of low end oomph, marathon runners are the HP, they may take longer to get up to speed, but they can maintain it better.

oh, and electric motors generally do exhibit awesome high power torque curves
