I'm on my 2nd DC header on my B. There are better headers out there from profab etc but they are really expensive. I think the DC is one of the best bang for your buck.

DC is good shiet even i got one... but if your gonna buy something... i'd honestly just get a JDM ITR header... it even outperforms the DC Type R version header... and will look stock with the heat shields
Well its for Chrissy's car she has told me she likes her D16z6 and does not want a swap right now. So I don't know about the JDM ITR one and if its gonna fit the D16z6

from what i have heard the dc 4-2-1 gives u more of a low end aspect as to were the dc 4-1 gives u more of top end....although the dc 4-1 hangs a bit lower than the 4-2-1

exactly what i was gonna say my car is redicoulsy low for the 4-1. pacesetters are a good brand too never hear of a complaint from and really brings up the torque..havent used them myself

Not all 4-1 hang low some are collected before they go under the car like SMSP. I would also say DC for the price most really good headers are above $500.

i had an airmass on my y8, it was ok. but, the finish started to rust after like a year. no biggie, since i got it new for like $110 shipped.

bisimoto header out of the question?
i'd say if you're just looking for something cheap, go with the Megan Racing unit..

be a baller and drop some dime on a header that will make considerable power. smsp, rage, rmf, bisi, etc. never heard one complaint, only extremely good things about each of those brands. they do cost a pretty penny, but there is a reason why.

I got a Airmass 4-1 on my D16Y8, and yes i gave it good top end, although It made The the car have the classic ricer, "pissed-off bumble bee" sound over 4,000 RPM. even with the resonator and Tenzo muffler..

Ya, it may be the Tenzo making my civic sound pissed the hell off.. I've never seen tenzo mufflers on anything except RACE cars. I'm not a balla, and i dont have many dimes, so anyone know of any good Big-ass Chrome mufflers that sound good for no more than 50 bucks?? :D (cheapo is good) :TU:
Like the ones on ebay called "Apexi Fireballs" tuneable mufflers? anyone know anything about them? I've already got all the vroom vrroom i need. I got a cammed out d16 running 8psi.. I just want a good muffler with a low note. Lemmie know something.

my brother had an OBX muffler i wanna say it was the "Bomb type-B" muffler. it was on his 99 dx and sounded really good, not ricey like the one i stole off my parts car. lol
for a header i was gonna get the pacesetter setup. i heard that it isnt as good as free flowing as others, but that its an amazingly good header for the price.

Get a stock manifold. A header is just going to cost you money with no return in HP. This is a fact. unless you feel like paying $75 a HP
And for all the ****s that read this and think about starting a damn war about the header comment not giving you any HP. keep in mind that I know my shit and I will prob just make you feel bad.
its a D16. not worth spending the money on.
So Miguel a stock manifold on Chrissys car is gonna make more power than a Header?

keep in mind that not everybody wants to swap their d out. Im keeping mine and building it n/a, looking for 14's. a good header is part of the equation of a good motor.

man this is the biggest debate EVER!...blah blah blah building a D series is worthless blah blah...! tell that to SOHC guru BIZI MOTO... and tell him that his SOHC is crap and then he'll shut just about everyone up....

It may not be worth it to you, but some people want to build the d16. I dont think its worth peoples tome to do things like scrapbooking, but if its their thing then good for them. let people do their own thing, its not your money they are spending

wow, I've never seen civic guys argueing so much about the same car.
But, just as a little info, my turbo'd d16 coupe will tear the paint of my B16A2 Hatch back. The hatch has i/h/e and the coupe has the same thing with a 1,000 turbo kit on it. Either way both the motors are great. But like MOST of the ppl in this forum, I use the d16 the play with because u can get decent power outta them, and can get the motor outta any junk yard.. and 36mpg is good too!!

is this directed to me? if it is...notice im running a d15b...the counterpart of a d16z6...ugh nobody got my joke. ne ways anybody can bash on the sohc motors...its the owner preference.i myself love how simple the d series motor and i am familiar with that motor. i blow them up and i just replace and believe me it cost me less than 300 bucks for another motor. but i do have to say boost is good for the sohc..you make great numbers and there is soo much room for improvments..thats it! Edwin forget headers BOOST IT!

only directed to you pointing out that some people, even though it may cost more, prefer to keep it na. i have nothing against boosting though! i just love the look on peoples faces when their swapped car gets beat by a sohc n/a

dude you know how much i would love to see that too..lol.i was stating that people complain about their sohc not making enough power...and a quick solution is spray or some fi. but the thing is some people dont know how fi works and then their are those who dont know how to use a wrench. im glad im in a community where some of us have some common sense and some wrench time under our belts :TU:

Yeah Mani I am gonna get a DC Sport 4 to 1

Yep, good choice, hommie. Thats what I've got on my D16Y8, DC 4-1. It made my car run alot better from 5,000-7200 rpm, gives it a great sound up there too. By the way, I've waste-gated my SOHC to 12.5PSI. And I ran my uncles WRX in the 1/8th mile. I won by about 1/4 inch but it was a big deal at the track. I'll post pics and vid. when i get it.
