Just picked up a CTR Strut Tower bar and I was wondering if anyone had installed one of these on a USDM car. There are no holes from the factory in the strut towers, just dimples where the holes are supposed to be. I know I am going to have to drill, but should I use nuts and bolts or is there a threaded insert that I have to put into the strut tower to secure the bar? Any help would be appreciated...

Line up the strut bar with the dimples. Mark the center of the holes with a Sharpie. Drill the holes out with a Uni-Bit. Go to Home Depot and get 4 12mm bolts and nuts and install the strut bar. Bolt it down with the nuts on the underside of the strut bar in the wheel well and please don't put it on backwards.

Pretty much sums it up right htere. I prefer to put the bolts in from the bottom, that way I can just leave them in when I remove the bar, plus it's easier to start the nuts that way. But it's more a matter of personal preference, either way works fine. You also may want to use washers on the underside of the strut tower.

The holes aren't pre-drilled on 6th gens.

so the top of the strut doesnt come up into the engine bay.. .. a pic would explain better i think..
*edit*..

nope.
Stock bar looks like this(not my car/pic)>>
It uses two holes outboard of the damper bolts on the raised portion of the strut tower. I kinda prefer this design as it doesn't place any additonal stress on the top-mount bolts of the damper.

thanks fellas. pretty much what i had in mind. i just thought inserting a threaded collar would make it more like oem, easier to remove/reinstall in the future
