looks good. I'm going that route too :)
That interior does look like its in great shape, especially with 162k miles, wow. Hell if that turbo is your first mod (i.e. before drop, wheels, etc.) than it is going to be a total sleeper. Good job.

Got a few more parts in the mail recently. Got my ARP headstuds and my RC370cc injectors.:)
My ACT Clutch kit will be here on monday also;)
I sent out my turbine housing to Phil over at SpoolinPerformance. he is making me a new log manifold along with a 2.5inch downpipe and a closed loop dumptube so the turbo project is officially taking about a 6-8 week break:TD: but those new parts are gunna be the final pieces to the puzzle not to mention some top notch pieces:TU:
I decided in the mean time to throw my guages onto the a-pillar trim piece. here are a few pics of the mess:rockon:
^^^ Can't wait to see that little needle movin!!!!
I realized i am not much of an electrician and im not even sure if i hooked all the wires up that will light the gauges correctly. If any1 see's a problem with my handy work please let me know... I dont wanna **** anything up once i get all the wires in the car! (the wires that will light the guages are the ones that have the orange and grey caps on them...white is the 12v and black is the ground)
Also i have one hose running from my boost gauge and one hose running from my oil pressure gauge. Does anyone know which gauge is supposed to have the longer hose cuz i mixed them up and forgot which hose goes to which gauge. Right now i have the longer hose hooked up to the oil pressure gauge but I'm not sure if thats correct!

wire nuts are meant for wiring inside houses using solid wire, more likely than not they will eventually come loose. invest in a soldering iron, it will give you better, more reliable connections, and you can pick one up at radio shack for like $8. i'd also be careful about using the little plastic hose for the oil pressure gauge, it could break and leak all over the place. copper tubing is a bit better, but an electiral gauge hooked up to a sending unit is best.

okay well i rewired all the gauges so it looks muuuch cleaner :D and i already tested em out to make sure they will turn on when the headlights are turned on and they work great. Took ur advice Lionel and i ordered a copper hose set from autometer to go with the oil pressure gauge so when that comes in i will run all the remaining wires/hoses and take some nice pics of the finished product!

before i hit it with the engine cleaner
after pressure wash
valve cover still needs a bit more attention...but it ain't to bad for a engine with almost 171,500 miles that spent its entire life in New England weather!
Hooked up my gauges
Little blurry...
I took the cf hood off and will be selling it shortly

hey nate spray some armor all ... a LIGHT SPRAY!... and that will look 10 times better...
Nate get some wax and a polish and use that in the engine bay armor all will work but will also pick up and hold all the dirt from the road and make it that much harder to clean up next time.
The wax or polish will form a protective film over it and make it easier to clean next time!
Nate hit me up on my cell I would like to talk to you about the CF Hood!

OKay...I have had the last few days off and it has been raining for like the past week. Even tho my garage is tiny i decided to do some work on teh coupe. I removed my foglights. Removed all the stock intake parts except for the intake arm and threw on a autozone filter (seeing as how i will have to remove those parts sooner or later for the charge pipes). My Golden Eagle vacuum manifold finally came in today after a few weeks of waiting so i decided to install that also. Here are some pics of my adventuresss.:TU:

since i will be boosting on a bone stock d16 with about 172k on it i am shooting for around 180-200whp
could you help me on this
how can you get that much power just by boosting it?
my shit would blow up real quick lol of course the d16 has a bit more power to begin with then my d15
NtAcivG94
05-26-2006, 02:03 AM
stock D series internals are good for about 200-220whp
as long as ur compression is good you can boost...regardless of mileage. altho i would do a few things b4 like replaceing all the gaskets...ie. oil pan, head, valve cover...and maybe even a new timing belt and water pump
I guess my engine wont be completly "stock" i am putting in arp head studs but other then that stock

Yeah pretty much dude. The most you can safely boost on a D15 is 6-8 psi. But at 8 psi you're already pushing it. Here's the reason why most people DONT build D15B7 or B2 motors. Rods, I think Crower is the only company that makes rods for d15b7s and they cost like 800 bucks. For less than that you can find a D16 shortblock. D15s with 7 psi of boost are good for about 160-170 whp (correct me if I'm wrong) and while you don't overboost they'll run just as good as d16 motors.
Very nice build Nate, you're using all the right parts and that motor is gonna run like a dream. Are you gonna build the internals after you install the parts or 180-200 whp is all your aiming for?? You know what they say....you're gonna want more:).

actually i think all d series stock internals can handle up to 200-220whp depending on how good the tune is...you can't really give a specific psi...think about it one turbo could get u to 200whp on 7 psi while another smaller one would take 10psi...both would be making 200whp and both would be safe...
As for the question about building the internals...i would love to but school starts for me in september so i will most likely not have enough money to build up the engine this summer...i might be picking up another D tho as a back up or for a build-up down the road...thanks for the props tho!:TU:

i have seen d15's run 10 psi....its all in the tunning...thats about how much u can saftley go though....anymore and u start to push it

only 10? haha ive seen 12 psi daily driven with turbo edit and uber. im gonna be running 12psi with e manage. just dont go fmu
NtAcivG94
06-02-2006, 04:24 PM
like i said b4 it isnt how much psi an engine can handle its how much horsepower it can handle...our engines are good for 200-220whp. So if u got a big ass turbo that can make 250whp on only 8psi the engine will more then likely give out or be on the very edge!

06-15-2006, 11:47 PM
alright where do i begin....well i have been doin alot of thinking recently and I am starting to lean twoards selling all my turbo shit and the "saleable" parts on my coupe.:TD: I keep spending money on this car and kind of kick the thought of school out of my mind (which is stupid cuz it is starting in september) It sounds kind of stupid but, for me atleast, with this car comes a lot of stress. mainly cuz of the fact that we are tight on money around here and I will be moving to a city right next to boston and im sure we all know apts. near big cities ARE NOT cheap:eek: and to tell u the truth...i think that selling all my shit and basically bringing back teh car to stock form will really get a lot of stress off of my back and give me more then enough money for school. The though of this really kills me. But i know school is far more important then having a turbocharged car now at this point in my life. i know there will be plenty of oportunities to get some nice cars and mod them like crazy after school is over...i really need to get this school thing over with and be settled with a decent job (and i know i should have thought about that b4 dumping the THOUNANDS of dollars on the turbo shit) what i would really love to do now is sell all teh shit and get back as much money as possible and then make my beloved ej1 a daily driver for school since i know it is reliable enough. then after school try to get my hands on either a 1999-2000 ex coupe or a nice EM1 or even better my dream car the mighty AP1 (or AP2)....i think this decision is basically me trying to relieve myself of all the stress involved with this build ( i know that kinda sounds dump....i mean who stresses over a damn 12 year old car!!) as much as i try not to...i also seem to find minor little problems that are common for a car of that age but that i wish were just non-existent. I still love coupes and Honda for that matter!:TU: :honda: it's just i have to get my priorities straight and make sure my life is on the right track...this desicison isnt final, however it really looks like it will end up this way...but what really sucks is I WAS ALMOST BOOSTING:errf:
please don't mind my shitty punctuation and spelling...it is gettin late and i am quite tired as i typed this out...

will do man...tis a sad day in the life of Nate Arsenault...about the turbo kit, does ur friend want to buy a whole kit or just parts?...cuz to tell u the truth i wouldnt be able to let go of eveything for like only 1500-2000...i have over 4 G's invested in brand new parts. that sucks nate!!
but priorities are priorities. School is much more important than a turbo car and sometimes I slip away from that fact and pay more attention to the problems in the civic than school.
If you need to sell parts, perhaps I am the one you might want to talk to for certain things.

Havn't really updated this thing for a while cuz there hasnt really been any updates! Well I guess there is now sooo....Sold all of the turbo parts and all in all I made back most of the money that I had spent on the parts which is good. I sold all of the parts because i was planning on living out by my school. I have since decided that I will be commuting. Good news is I have a bunch of money that I wont have to be spending on an apartment out by my school. The bad news is I will be driving about 120 miles a day 5 days a week. All highway tho So i think the little D will be able to handle it no prob;)
I just picked up a few new parts for the coupe so be on the look out for a few more updates along with some new pics!

If not i'm gunna resell it. Should be in late this week or early next week. Will have some new pics up as soon as I can.

thats not too bad of a price. but i thought you were going back to stock or something? why get rid of the exhaust and everything else and then go buy a turbo kit? lol

well sold the turbo kit...needed the money cuz of no job right now. Nothin new happenin with the coupe just have a set of winter tires on there now and i have been using it for about the past 3 months to just get me to and from school...i have put approx. 8k miles on it just goin back and forth from school. come spring time i will hopefully be getting some sort of job and when i do i will be looking for a new car...somthing not 13 years old and with no rust. if i stick with honda i will be looking to get either a 2000 ex or si. if i am able to get a decent loan out i will probably be looking into an 03 or 04 wrx.

Not much of an update...but just wanted to snap a few pics of her in her current winter mode
cleaned up the interior pretty damn good over the weekend
driver side floor got a little wet tho today since its rainin
some of the beastliest (is that a word) snow tiresu will ever see...and i havent even been able to use em yet! haha
depending on my money situation come spring...i might have a few plans for her...such as some full coilovers (probably PICs) and some 15'' royal sport bronze grids (only cuz i can't justify spending as much on a set of volks as i did on the whole car!)
oh can any1 notice the little change i made to her btw? (exterior)
