:honda: Ok during the morning my car runs good. During the after noon the car runs good. But around 4:30, 5:00 when I get off work my car cuts off when just siting at a light or stop sign. I have to keep the rpms up. Now it's really starting to get me mad. Does any one know why, and how to fix it? The engine is a D16 y8. Now my car does rev up and down from 1000 to about 1300 when it's just sitting. When I unplug a sensor from the back of the head it will stop revving up and down, and rest around 1000. When I unplug it my vtec controller wont show me how much throttle it's getting.:japanflag:

well I took the alt to auto zone they tested it and said it was good. so I thought it might not be getting grounded. so I sliced into to the black wire in the plug grounded to the car and tried to start it. it wouldn't start. and my vtec controller wont even come on now. I un did the wire I used and still wont start and the vtec still wont come on. does anyone know whats going on? :hoppingmad:

The check engine light came on, but Advane Auto said they can't read the codes because it's obd1 not a obd2.

you can still run flash codes, the same exact way you do obd2. do you know how to do it?

ok i don't have a list of the codes handy, but, its easy to read. a long flash will count as 10, short flash will be 1. so say, 2 long flashes and 2 short, would be a code 22.i will try to find the list of codes and sticky them

well i fix the car. it was the wire that runs from the batt to the alt. It was was just a tad bit loose. I feel real stupid. BUT THANKS FOR THE HELP,and I would still like to get the codes if you can.

5 short then 7 short= 57 ? cant find the code in any place
1 long 7short = 17 VSS - speed sensor (Am I right?)
My car runs good when I let it throw the codes. But when it does not throw the code it ideal real low and rough, and when I hit the gas and when the rpm go back down it will shut off.

if its 5 short then a slight pause then 7 short.. its not 57 its two diff codes....
5 - MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Mechanical Problem
7 - TP Sensor (Throttle Position)
and yes the 17 is the VSS....
