harness compatibility...?

alright, one of the last things i havent completely figured out yet.

This is for a '94 del sol S, so it shouldnt be any different than coupes/hatchs. unfortunately i do not own a '93 S model where it came already wired up for VTEC.

when i put my z6 in ill be using the harness that goes across the engine, and im pretty sure that it will plug into the firewall harness on either side. My question to you is, does the firewall wire harness have the wires built into the clips for the vtec soloniod etc. goin into the ECU?

Also if I need to change the dash harness for the hook-up to the cruise control servo-box/buttons.

you can run vtec wires from the solenoid to the ECU but if i was you i would just pick up a vtec harness...but the wires are from the engine harness and not the dash one.

ill get back to you on the cruise control...

well the reason why im askin is i had a parts del sol that my z6 came from(250 it cost me) and i kept the whole front clip wireing because i wasnt sure where what ended and needs to be replaced in order to keep it nice and clean(stock), w/o adding wires.

so i guess im asking to save myself some work dealin with the interior and switching out the firewall harness('s)

i hope this makes sense...what im tryin to say.

This may help. I had to add wires when I was running a Z6. I just ran them from the connector to the ECU.



The two orange wires in the pic won't be there. The vtec pressure switch wire will need to go to D6 at the ECU, the solenoid wire will go to A4. The "A" connector is 26 pin and the "D" connector is 22 pins. Phearable. net has more info and diagrams, that's where I got the first pic from.

not that its ur fault there is some incorrect information about wireing up a knock sensor, and that is the Si del sol from 94-97 never came with the dohc engine :) tsk tsk..

Well my car ended up being wired with the two wires for vtec already which is excellent!!
