i'm in a pickle here.

for the past couple weeks, a girl i know has been hounding me to trade me her 89 civic hatch +2k for my coupe...minus a few things of course. i've been telling her no, because why would i want an ef???

i found a reason:shifty: a kid i work with has finally decided to lay it on me that he has a complete obd0 b16a dropout at his dads garage. they pulled it out of his buddies car when it got rearended, and he let them keep it for pulling it out (he got a pathfinder or something) his dad wants it gone, and he said i can have everything for 200:eek:

so i figure, a free ef + 2k - $200 b16 swap - $200 mount kit = about 1600 for misc. shit (clutch, any odds/ends for the swap) and coilovers/sways for autox. then i'll gut it, put my racing seat in it and by then buy some good tires. this then adds up to one nasty little autox'er:rockon:

so here's my boggle...keep my clean coupe, and probably go nowhere with it:neutral: or trade for the hatch and have a pretty leathal little whip...

if the EF is in good shape and you know that B16 motor is good, go for it. i just hope that the chick doesn't flake on that $2,000. thats the only thing i'd worry about. definitely check that EF over good though before you make the trade.

I wouldnt do it, its an EF!?! go get a shell for a few hundred and buy the motor with your own funds and bam you have an auto X 'er project.. and still have the coupe! :D

i'll probably won't keep it as a daily driver, so i'm not worried about noise. this might just be my weekend racer anyway.

the only thing it needs is a windshield, which doesn't really matter because mine needs one too. i'm going to call her and meet up sometime so i can look it over. if she tries to come down on the 2k, i won't even think about it.

i'm also selling the black coupe i picked up a few weeks ago too. so far, i have a guy that lives up my street that wants to buy it for his daughter. i'm probably going to make about 1200 profit on that one. hmmm....ls/vtec w/cams??? or maybe a boosted b16 perhaps???:D

dammit u always get to it before me...i had an ef and man that thing was annoying to sit in...especially the hatch in the back get sold flopping noise and pepples on the undercarriage..and then you hit a lil put the roof sounds like its gonna collapse..might be just mine but man...glad i got rid of it

why dont you just pick up that b16 swap and trade the tranny for a hydro or get hasports hydro to cable conv.. and get a hold of a chipped P28 or a stock P30 ecu.. and drop that shiet in ur coupe...

i've never really heard anything about the cable/hydro conv. i guess they work okay? if that's the case, then i might just do that;)

yeah, def keep the coupe and buy the swap, and get the hasport kit or a new tranny, you will have money from the black coupe sale anyway :TU:

do obd1 dizzys bolt right into the obd0 head? that's my only concern for converting to obd1. other than that, i know i can use my injectors and most of my sensors off my z6.
