I've been reading bunches on wheel tire size's of time attack honda/acura. It gave me some ideas for the furture. The hasport CRX my inspiration really seems the be the cream o the crop in fwd. I called hasport and talked with the cars owner. The car is running 255/40/17's up front and 235/45/17's out back. Of course rolled fenders in the back and the fronts custom widened and arched. Is this too big? Or would it be worth it to kick that much ass?

Way too big for most CRX's. For a street car, 14 or 15 would be fine.
Take a look @ the most competetive civic in autocross (races that compete in "real world speeds") @ http://www.b18c5.com/ He is/was running ubber wide wheels for grip but kept the overal diameter small.
Small rotating mass and wt = better acceleration.

you also have to keep in mind the hasport car is a promotional car too. It also has power and the larger wheel could possible serve as a longer gear to provide some extra grip since it is exceeding 250+ hp.

Word.
I'm assuming they are running gigantic wheels to try to keep momentum and decrease deceleration @ higher speeds.

True he did say part of the big size was due to the 300+ hp of the car. Origionally the hasport car was acutally a daily driver untill the gigantic wheels and tires went on.

255/40/17 isnt even in the same ballpark though... that is a HUGE f'in tire to cram under any subcompact!

In my opinion anything that exceeds the O.D. of the stock wheel and tire, or anything bigger than a +2 fitment is too big.

The height is a real killer on this setup it's 2 inches taller than stock, if only they made a 255/40/15 or something like that.

i do auto-x and the wheels i used for that were 14" my daily driven wheels are 15". i refuse to go above 16", to me, 17s on a civic are like 20s on a caprice. it aint the biggest you can go but its still pretty damn big. 2 inches make a diff...
