Last month my foglights just stop working and just before they completely stop i would have to keep the switch push in and drive for a while for them to light up again. Is there anyway to tell if a switch is Bad? I went to honda and check the bulbs, voltage, ground, fuse that came with the harness, and everything is fine. I even took my second set of fogs and plug them in and nothing. Is there anything else i didn't check? Both foglights are Stanley not Depot.

I'm interested to see the solution here since my girl's fogs did the same thing.

Well I looked in my Honda Tech Service Manual and I cant find anythng in there about fog lights. Im sure there is a a way to run a test on the switch ( since you can run tests on all switches ). Maybe wantacoupe or Dina will chime in since they are Honda Techs, maybe they have a better manual than I do. Ill keep searching in the mean time.

i guess getting a new switch wouldn't hurt. all things don't last forever, let me know if you find something C-West civic.

Do you have 3 wires that go into the switch?

Got a multimeter?

my switch has 5 wire. Could it be the relay? Does anyone has the part number for it just in case it is the relay?

Your switch has 5 wires? Whats the color codes and pin placement?

my switch has 5 wires. here are the wire colors starting with top to bottom

1. all red w/ black thin line down it
2. all red w/ yellow thin line down it
3. all black
4. all red w/ black thin line down it
5. all black

I had someone check the switch and they told me that the top two wires was responsing but the others wasn't and said that it might be the switch. but should check the relay b/c it might get stuck. i'll be having someone check that on jan 2 for me.

Well the reason the blacks werent responding is because they are grounds. Im guessing the red w/ yellow is your main power coming from the combo switch. 1 of the red w/ black strip is feeding to your illumination control box. But thats as far as I can guess at this point without seeing it

I finally found some diagrams, but your colors are different from the ones in the diagrams. This is hard to do like this. Your relay is a 4 wire relay? 2 blacks 1 blue w/ red strip and 1 red w/ white strip?

Blue w/ red strip is your power to the fogs
Red w/ white strip is your power for relay and your switch but you dont have red w/ white strip wire, crap ). This actually might be the red w/ yellow strip. See if the red w/ yellow strip runs not only to your switch, but also to your relay.

If it does, you shoud be able to use that line ( red w/ yellow ) to bypass your switch. In doing so, if your lights come on, you know its not your relay. Im just tryin to figure out which other lead you need for the test.

PM WantaCoupe, se if he can get you a fog light wiring diagram that supports your colors.

Well i went to Rollin' thunder audio the one that install my foglights and when i finally got the bumper off b/c it's very cold in the NY. He test the ground and voltage again and told me to turn them on. They came on and i was like damm he didn't do nothin but they lite up. I felt that my car likes acting up with me but around others it doesn't and i look like it was just me or i didn't try everything before bring to him. so everything was cool once i left and when i got home later that nite it did it again. I don't know what's up! Will a depot wire harness work with the jdm foglights?

Check that ground he messed with. Its possible its loose or there is something wrong with the wire or pins. Try tracing the wire and see what you can find, if anything.

I dont have a clue about the depot wire harness, sorry.
