what do you guys think of the RS*R ExMag GTII? how does it sound, how low is it, how's the quality, is it worth the beans?

I hear its pretty good and has a low tone to it. Just hear say though but whenever someone brings up exhaust RS*R is usually mentioned

^^ you're thinking of the regular RS*R Exmag.
OniFactor is talking about the RS*R Exmag GTII setup. its more like the A'PEXi N1 system. Ryan (2coupes) has the GTII system on his car. from what he's told me it is REALLY loud. i would prefer something like the regular Exmag or the WS2 to such a loud exhaust though. i had an Espelir JGT500 and changed it out for an A'PEXi WS2.
i just like a quieter exhaust though. makes me less conspicuous yet still gives a nice look and exhaust note to the car. i also like the way the WS2 and Exmag tips are designed. fairly small tips with rolled edges. very nice. :TU:
basically: :shogun: Shogun says buy the RS*R Exmag and NOT the GTII. ;)

Probably sounds like an APEXi N1

RSR is the most popular exhaust right now and most people that have it love it... hard to get always on backorder...

you guys are all talking about the original RS*R Exmag.
OniFactor is wanting info on the RS*R Exmag GTII....

do you think the straighter piping actually helps at all? if it does, i might as well just get something fabbed up locally.. that was my main thought..
just to be clear, this is what i'm looking at (nevermind that it's on a hatch, they don't have an on-car picture for the coupe)

unless you're going turbo and planning on doing some serious racing, i don't think the straighter piping is going to make that much of a difference, especially on a civic. if it was an Evo or STi ripping on 20 lbs boost they could probably pick up an extra 30-40 hp from an exhaust with less bends, but on our cars (especially without a turbo) its not gonna do hardly anything.
oh yeah, Luis, you....uh.....can go chirp chirp! haha!!  :japanflag: Shogun wins! :shogun: :shogun: :shogun: :shogun: :shogun:

i will commit seppuku and retain my honor for the JDM Samurai of old!!! :japanflag: Tom Cruise is a crazy man! :knockout:
but really though, I'd say keep shopping around on exhausts. and like you said, having a local shop bend you a setup is always an option as well. just pick a muffler you like and spend about $150 on getting everything welded up. quick and easy job. :TU:

i already have a decent midpipe (guy before me had 2.25" with a stock muffler, wtf?), and if anything, i just need an axle back. i just kinda liked the simple look of the GTII.. and the slipfit design is rad.

I love my Greddy Evo2 exhaust. It came silenced but I had to take it out because it was starting to come apart. The thing freakin rips but its not a ricer whine, its a nice deep tone.

I've been going with the same exhaust for almost two years now and nothing bad happened except for the silencer being broken up but I think it sounds better without it

this thread was made for me :D , I really like it, I bought it from Ricky aka JDM EJ1 95, it has a straight pipe all the way back and then an angle from the middle of the car to the exhaust cutout. The angle looks freakin' sick imo. It is really loud, but only when you really step on the pedal, at cruising 3000 rpm it's fairly quiet. as for the clearance issues, don't believe what you hear, it does go under the LCA's in the middle rear of the car but I've only scraped on a few huge ramps and speedbumps, which could be because of how low my car is (tucking tire)
overall this exhaust gets an excellent rating by me, i did actually feel an increase in power, but that could have been my mind :D , and RSR makes great products as a whole...I will try to snap some pics this weekend because i'm gonna try to clean it up and wax the car for a photoshoot

haha thanks guys, but you would puke from the uncle ben's special haha I didn't get as much dericing done as I wanted to this weekend, but all the parts are there and it will happen, I don't want to show my full car until I feel confident that it shows my true style :TU:
back to topic, those were just some quick shots I took, the reason they are all so low is because the ground acted as my tripod :D

If bill can show his rice, i think u can. He's really self concious about it too, it took me 3 or 4 months to convince him to post the pics. So snap and post away.

Some guy on ht fabbed up an exhaust like that, it takes two bends. And to hang it, you can buy adjustable exhaust hangers at your local autozone.

one thing to take into account though, is that the rsr has strong thick piping, to withstand possible scraping, it holds up really well, i think mine is more than 3 years old
OniFactor
04-17-2006, 09:46 AM
what gauge would you say it is?

i don't know, but it is still tons lighter than most exhaust systems for our cars, i bet it only weighs 20 pounds

The RS*R GTII exhaust is very loud. If you want something quiet I recommend The RS*R exmag, Greddy SP2, or Apex'i World Sport exhaust.:TU:

Rockin the RSR ExMag here. I couldn't be happier with the way it sounds. Cruising you can just barely tell it's aftermarket and when you floor it the sound is glorious!
