Well a lot of the JDMCC members already have the stickers on their cars.

Instead, how about like a $150 gift certificate valid at any JDMCC sponsor? This would require more than the two we have now, but it's just an idea at this point.

I'm not sure that I'm with this idea, I'm not against it but it just does not appeal to me at all.
I agree with these other guys about the sickers, buy them to support the site, I have access to a vinyl cutter but I bought them anyways. They are only 5 bucks, that's pretty easy to fork out.

haha or the "winner" gets a can of corn..at shippin at their expense...this isnt a charity website...if we were mainstream and had the funds ...it would be a big deal but i think of it as a privaledge to be on this site. i mean you have people here to talk to to or get help from...hookers still charge you to hang out with them even though stuff xxx isnt involved...so people here have invaluable information streaming from them that most people would charge by the min for.i thank the guys and gals who make this all happen and their contribution to the site is more than enough. and i will be the member of the month.bought stickers sold items and contributed to the chats and forums even though my internet was down =)

Honestly if I could do it guys I really would I love the Coupe Council and its members the site is one of the best things to ever happen to the Coupe Council.

I dont think the member of the month would be a bad thing let me see if I can come up with something and I will let youj guys know.

I do understand that no one was saying give me this or give me that and that all they were trying to do was make a suggestion, some of us took it a different way and I apologize for them right now I never want anyone on this site to be a afraid of saying anything thing.

Member of the Month is cool, but there shouldn't be a reward for it. Just have it cool little avatar next to yours or something that says you are MOTM. And maybe a front page sign that says you are the MOTM. That would be enough IMO.

It wasn't an unreasonable suggestion. I don't keep tabs on how much the members, admins, or moderators here make; that's not what I was trying to say.

On this other forum, the sponsors agreed to let the member of the month (which usually only happens like every 6 months anyway) to choose any item in their store and receive $150 off that particular item. It's called return investment. You show willingness to make deals with the game, then the money will come back to you in return. It's the same idea as a commercial.

Clearly we don't have sponsors with that kind of funding (yet...hopefully), but I was just throwing the idea out there.

I think Car of the Month would be more appropriate. and most likely it would just be a feature on the main page like Derek was saying. this site is being totally funded out of Edwin's pocket, so any prizes and what not just aren't feasible right now.

for an idea of how a site runs a good CotM, check out www.d-series.org Every month they take submissions from members and then for about 2-3 weeks hold a poll and vote for whichever car they thing should win. then the admin interviews the winner and posts up a thread with the Q&A and pictures of the car. the winner also gets a big shot on the main page with "[Insert Month Here] Car of the Month!" above it.

that is probably how we would have to do it here. or something similar.

we can also cut down on the number of submissions and have a rule where you cannot nominate yourself. Someone else must nominate you. Course they can ask you for a mod list and pictures. The nominee can also decline the nomination and fall out of the voting. That would be fair is there was someone who didnt want to be COTM nominee.

yeah, that sounds pretty good about not nominating yourself. and i think from month to month people could be renominated if they don't win. the only stipulation would something like if you win COTM that you can't be nominated again for a year.

definitely a little project that could be fun. if any of the mods want to do more research and figuring about this go for it.... ;)
