Hey guys, will a 99 coupe front bumper fit right up to a 98 coupe? or would it need to be retrofitted

I just got done doing a 99-00 entire exterior conversion to my car and everything fit perfect. I put a new front end, new rear bumper and new rear tail lights and everything fit perfect with a little modification to the front end.

I misread that thinking that it said REAR bumper. If you were to put a 99 front bumper on a 98, the headlights would line up ALMOST correctly, but not quite and the grill would be way off. Considering That the grill is made to fit the bumper and the hood, and the grill on a 99-00 is much wider than the grill on a 96-98, there will be a huge gap between the grill and the bumper. In order to do this, you will have to change the entire front end, fenders, hood, headlights, grill, and bumper. This will all bolt right up except for when you go to put the front bumper on. When putting the front bumper on, you will have to cut the inside parts of the tabs off that the bumper bolts to. after doing this, the entire front end will fit perfectly. I spent about $300 to do my entire front end and it took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble. If you look at my build thread, the front end isn't lined up because I have to install a new radiator support. When that is finished it will all line up perfectly.

Instead of buying the radiator support you can modify the core support by cutting off a piece of it and drilling a new hole to mount the bumper to. Phunhaus (JDMC) did this to his hatch when he did the 99-00 front end conversion.

This is what I was referring to when I said To cut the pieces that the front bumper bolts to, I'm buying a radiator support because mine is bent from a previous collision. I believe all 96-00 radiator supports are the same, at least they dont have different part numbers when ordering them through an aftermarket company
