F**KING electric windows!

hi, i drive a Civic 1.6SRi EJ8
since i bought the car 2years ago, both front electric windows wont work!
everytime i try to lower them they stick and eventualy fall out the runners and is a right basterd to get back in by taking the whole door apart.

has anyone had the same problem, or knows how to fix it? im gettin to the point where im thinking about selling just to get rid of the problem...

Sounds like you need new run channels and/or window regulators. You can try lubing the run channels with silicone spray but it may not help if they're torn

yu need new window regulators! thats the best and easiest way to fix your problem!!

Every car has an achilles tendon, windows are for civics.
I'd try taking off your door panels and checking out your channels, if they look good, simply lube them up. If they looked dry, cracked, or displaced your going to need to replace them.
I've had a few civics, they have all had problems with the windows, I can now get in and get out of windows/doors in just a few minutes.

ehehe.. sorry man but i know its a headache but also its an easy fix.... as everyone stated... check the channels if they are good clean them and then lube them.... also make sure that the aluminum bracket/brace that holds the rubber guide/chanel is not pushed away from the window... (toward the door hinge)....


its number 6/11 on the picture but it looks like it says 611

Run channels are a big problem, especially on 96-00 civic coupes/hatches. I replaced literally hundreds of them in the years I worked at Honda.

If its been doing it a lot you might just want to go ahead and do the regulators while you're in there. They're prolly a bit tweaked if the windows have been popping out as much as you say they have.
