OK guys I a question here. I heard that if your car is automatic and you were to swap in a manual that you would have to get a different mount for the rear tranny mount cause on the auto its different than the manual.

I am askin because I am planning on Picking up a automatic EJ1 and then I was gonna swap in my B18B1 and use all the parts from my 5spd EJ1 to make it a manual car.

ok Lue thanks but is it the mount that bolts up to the tranny or is it the part that the mount bolts to on the car? cause if its just the mount then the mounts I have for the manual should fit it right?

^^ if you're going to keep your manual car and just use all the parts from it, you should be fine. basically transplate the entire transmission/mounts/engine etc. you've got the perfect setup with having an entire 5-speed parts car to use in your swap.

Ok guys lets get this straight.

1. I will keep everything from my 95 Ej1 I have now that has to do with the Engine and the parts I need for the auto to manual swap.

2. My original question was since I have everything for the swap, is the mounting location in the engine bay different on the Automatic for the tranny mount than it is for the manual tranny?

Thanks for all the replies so far!!!

no everything is the same...the only thing is the tranny mount (passenger side) is differant...on the 5 speed the bracket (connected to frame rail) sits about 1 inch further forward. thats why i bought the relocator mount...so i didnt have to do any cuting or welding...the hole is also already in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder to go through...its just coverd by a small block off plate with 2 12mm nuts holding it on. its a very stragith forward swap. i even cut out a shifter cup out of a 5 speed......so mine is like it came from the factory.

here is where you can find the mount you need..

http://www.innovativemounts.com/

since you have the full 5spd conversion your good to go, all you have to do is take the two wires and loop them to reconnect to read your 5spd setup. If you go on ...

www.rywire.com theres an article that shows you how to do so and seal it up. I know being im doing a b18c1 swap right now on my EJ1 automatic.. Its no fun whatsoever. Which is why im paying $1k to have someone else do it for me. Hope this helps.
