New Member's 1996 Civic Ex coupe EJ8

I got a 1996 Civic EX (ej8) with 92k miles . All stock except for the rims. Anyone think what can I get for them? Or maybe just paint em black.

Looks good what are your plans for it?

The exterior is getting nothing done to it, except new wheels. I want the car to look as stock as possible. For the interior, just about the same. The suspension will be changed to suit a daily driver. FOr the motor, im going to go NA. An AEM SRI is on the way, and that will be installed shortly.


For the intake install, do I need to torque the screws to a specific number or sumthing? OR can i just use normal hand tools. Also after I install it, do I need to reset the eco or do anything, or just drive?

^^ best way is just to call your local yards and ask. everywhere is going to be different. ;) where are you located? i'll sell ya my steelies, lol :lol:

14 inch steelies...came off of a 95 civic si.....tires..hmmm not sure....i would have to get back to later tonight or tomarrow..cause the rims are at my freinds house...they came on the project hatch we bought..

Here are some pics that I snapped yesterday. All stock except an AEM SRI, and the rims that were allready on it before. I was thinkin of painting them bronze or black..would that look better than now? I was also testing out my new camera, canon powershot s-80.

Yes they are 14's..kinda sucks.


A drop would change my car, but I really don't have the money right now. I was thinkin of just getting some s-techs right now with stock shocks, but that seems like a waste..

Put on a world sport 2 catback on in like february.

H&R sport springs just came in. Waiting for koni yellows. Will get some pictures when installed.

Well, two days ago i finally lowered my car on koni yellows and H&R sports. I loved every minute of driving the lowered car. We'll, I managed to do something very stupid. I entered a turn at a faster speed than usual, but i don't think i could have been going more than 30 miles per hour. Basically, the car didn't turn as it should have, understeered, i panicked and locked up the brakes. I hopped a curb with either one or two of the front wheels, blew one tire, might have bent a rim. I just hope nothing else got messed up. I am leaving for Europe tomorrow so this I will have to deal with when i come back. Arg. Also, I know I ****ed up, you don't need to bring it up please. There is no exterior damage except for the wheels. I think i hopped the curb at no more than 15 mph.
This happened real close to my house so it wasnt too bad getting back home.

Any suggestions on what things to look for being broken,bent etc?

Sucks I really want to see how the combo turned out. I am really considering this combination for myself.
Check your tie rods, control arms and what not. And if a shop would let you, spin check the wheels on the tire balancer to see if it is bent. Hope your damage isn't too bad.
