EJ8 Rear Deck speakers?

How do i get the stock speakers out??? i got the covers off but there are 2 screws that i cant get to...any suggestions?

i think there may be some screws going into the speakers from underneath. i think you have to get into the trunk and look up above to see them. maybe, not entirely sure. i think i remember seeing some screws and stuff up there when i was stuffed into my trunk. ;)

so... you broke the speaker covers...eheh... they are one solid piece with the deck LOL... that deck has to be removed!.... then you shall see the screws.....

mine werent all one piece...i did break one of the covers though...its just a pain in the ass to get out though...and i just broke the plastic clips and only put 2 screws in the new speakers...sounds real good though

How is the whole deck removed? I also want to change my speakers but I don't want to break anything.

you have to remove the rear backrest.... then you pop the side panels from the back so you have some movement on them.. then you pop the deck out.. its all clips...and WHALLA!... the deck is out..

Ok, i'm gonna try this tomorrow b/c I'm tired of seeing a good pair of 6X9's just sitting there.

Also, if you want to do it without caring, i've seen people just jank that whole thing out without taking out the sides or seats, too risky for me though. It takes some time, but aftermarkter speakers are worth it.

um yea, rear speakers are not fun. being an installer helps. but i still say its a pain in the ass. the rear seats gotta come out, the side panels come out, then the deck lid comes off. then ur speakers are there. have fun. i know i cringe everytime i have to do rear deck speakers on a car at work.

HAHA, yeah, fun stuff. I found it also easier to take off the seats, have fun!!!
