To stop all the nonsense, I have a 98 Civic EX Coupe. Not all that knowledgable in the chassis codes so... If I was wrong by saying EK than sorry. I am wanting to get an older Gen Civic 92-95 coupe, probably power, etc... It will be my wife's car. Thanks for all the feedback, it helps. If not informative, at least entertaining. :D

i have a dx and trust me i wish i still had either one of my old ex's.... rolling down the window and not having a sunroof gets old.......

So was I right by saying 98 Coupe was an EK? or no...
And I don't plan on a swap for the EJ, thats planned for my car... Don't want my wife running her car off the road or anything. Plus moneys tight so I gotta do one or the other for now, I've got lots of plans for the 98, I plan on everything custom. Gonna do it all myself if possible.
The one thing I hate more than anything is having something someone else has or could buy thats why the eybrows I have I made myself, plus the ones you buy look like crap. They just make the car look lazy and tired not aggressive.
I've designed a one off body overhaul. Nothing obnoxious like a ricer, just clean, simple and, more aggressive. Plus I'm an Industrial Designer and an Engineer at the yacht comany I work for so I would look like an idiot at least not trying to do a design of my own. Cause thats whats its all about, trying new things and not being satisfied with something cause I can buy it instead of making my own.
My motto: "If its broken fix it. If its not, F^*K with it." The words I live by.

I suppose I already figured out before the 98 coupe is an EJ8, correct?
if you look on your vin tag you will see that it says something like 1HEJ7 OR 2HEJ8 that is the chassis code of your car. EK was only in Japan poduced cars and I think it was only on the Hatches but its all good we all had to learn things at one point or another.
But if your car is a Ex Coupe then yes it is a EJ8!

Thanks. I figured that out awhile ago, but like every new thing I learn, if I don't think about it or use it, it gets lost.

there were only 2 models of coupe in the US, dx and ex, if you want power everything get the ex, and if you want lightweight and less luxury get the dx
