i believe the speed sensor is down by the wheel near the hub or on the backside. i think the problem is your transmission though. you better pull it out and send it to me. ;)

The VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on the tranny on the passengerside look down by where the throttle body meets the intake tube and you will see it, it has a gray plug I believe with 3 wires going into it.

I totaly feel you. My neighbors speed sensor on his 91 accord came out and i was gonna fix it for him (plug it back in because it fell out) but his parents took it to a shop while we were in school. The shop kept it for 6 days and charged him mucho money, total bullshit.

i had this problem in my ej2, the speed sensor wasn't bad, just the cluster was bad, you might try a friend's cluster before you go to all that trouble

yes, just like edwin said, down on the tranny, its very easy to change, one 10mm bolt. that's it.:TU:

You might be lucky and it might just be loose, or worse case its the wire part that goes to the back of the cluster.

no vtec fo j00. jk. Umm is it just a bad sensor or did the wire start ripping away from the sensor. I had almost the same problem. As i installed my motor mount inserts i noticed the wires were really stretched out. If it is the wire you might want to check your mounts if not put in some inserts. they cost around $35 I believe from energy suspension.
