well, guys, i haven't been on JDMCC much the past 4-5 days, mostly cuz i've been in a down mood about my car. i helped install some springs on a buddy's car last week, and he let me drive the 5-speed after we finished. instantly all the joy of 5-speed driving rushed back to me. i stepped into the car shifting cars like it was nothing. i haven't driven a manual car in over a year. i love the feeling.

also, two other guys have cars that are in a LOT better shape than mine. my car's bumper is effed, paint is messed up, hood is bent, window seals missing, etc. it just pissed me off. like, why does my car need all these repairs when those guys' cars are in great shape. just really got my depressed. i put up a thread last week about selling a bunch of my parts and was thinking about selling the car to get something new in another year. i went out today and pulled off the D16Z6 valve cover which has been sold, and just looking at my car it seemed to say, "Don't get rid of me." i know i can get almost everything in tip top shape and still not spend as much as i would on a brand new car, plus my insurance would shoot up as well on a new vehicle.

so, today i shook myself outta my trance and took down my remaining for sale threads. i can't sell this car. i've put too much into it. Edwin was going through a similar situation with his car, but he's made it through and is still going. i know i can do the same. i think i just needed some support from JDMCC to keep me on track with this car.

with new mirrors on the way tomorrow, red4 is officially back in action!

if i ever try to get rid of this car again, somebody please slap me. ;)

i'm the same way, i want to get rid of it and get something else. i just can't do it though even though it makes more sense to go another direction. my next big step is turbo or swap, but when i finish saving the money i still don't think i'll do it. i add up all the parts i already have and how much more it'll take before i'm happy with it and in the end its still a civic money pit

Mike I hear you man It was hard for me I was not working and I made a list of all the stuff it would take to just get the car back to stock form and it was way over 2000 so I was like the hell with it.

But Honestly the support of the people here and the fact that I love Cars and I love the Coupe Council has made me realize that I can start another car and make it better than the green one ever was!

People like Chrissy, Luis, Amber, Mel, Bill,Audrey, Mikey123, Esprit09, Lionel, and you Mike have help to make me see that I can move on and keep the Coupe Love going!

SO CHEER UP BUD WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!!

COUPE COUNCIL FOR LIFE!!!

Mike, I think we've all felt that way sometime or another with our cars. I know I have. The two times my car got hit, I thought to myself, "Why do I even bother fixing up my ride when nobody seems to give a sh*t about it?" I will go to car shows and see some really nice cars and wonder if I'll ever get to that point. Most of the time, those cars belong to owners with a buttload of money. A lot of us don't have money to throw around like that.

For us poor folk, that buy parts little by little, it just makes it that much more enjoying when you do acheive your goal with your car. You know just how much time, work and hard earned cash went into it.

Don't ever give up.

Instead of buying petty mods like you have (no offense, they are good mods) just save up the money and buy you some wheels. I think you'll be surprised how much more you'll love your cars with new rims, it gives it a whole new look and feel.

Do it.

Like all the friggin' block-off plates you have LOL

With how much you've spent on those you could probably have paid for the shipping on your rims already.

I'm just messin' with ya man. I just ordered new rims myself this weekend, I can't wait to get them in. :)
