This is a simple how to paint your wheels the rattle-can way. I am using 2 cans of gloss black dupli-color and 2 cans of dupli-color high gloss clear coat. You will also need 800 grit wet/dry sand paper, a red scuff pad, rubbing alcohol, paper towels, pack of note cards, masking tape, and a lot of time. Her is what i started off with a gun metal Motegi MR7.

Step 1. Wet sand your wheel with p800 grit sand paper. The more time you spend sanding the better your wheels will come out.

Step 2. Scuff with a red scuff pad real good.

Step 3. Let all the air out of the tire and place the note cards around the lip, make sure they're in there good so when you start spraying they don't blow onto the face of the wheel. This is light coat #1.

Now repeat 4 coats of clear and your done. here's my finished product.

Nice job man. Looks pretty good to me. How long did it take you to do all four, or have you done all four?

Rep for you!

It took about a week 1/2. I painted 1 wheel a day cuz i only had about 2 hrs. of sunlight to work with a day after work.I think they came out pretty good. There's a couple drips on two of the wheels but it total changed the look of my car. I took some pics today here's a before and after.I'll be downloading the rest of the pics to my build thread tomarrow.I only spent about $60 on the materials.

I think the black on black looks a little better than the gun-metal.

totally agree. Plus now when you paint your caliper, the calipers willl contrast against the dark color of your rims. My suggestion is to paint the motegi logo red but thats only because I have a fancy for red on black. Otherwise, congrats on the awesome job

Yeah i wanted to do a red lip but i couldn't tape it off so the line would be perfect, and it would've looked like crap.I think nitto makes a red line tire i wonder how that would look?I'll be getting a new front bumper cover next week so I'll have the factory grill back and i can finally put fog lights in.
