I remember weighing mine a long time ago.
I think it was 22lbs.

^ Interesting, never knew that.

I wouldn't go too terribly light if its a street car. It will give you those nice crisp almost motorcycle-ish revs tho.

Dammit!! I had a D15z1 laying around before, wish I would have known. Would have been a nice junkyard upgrade for my girl's car.

To the OP; the weight of the flywheel will affect how fast revs drop between shifts and when leaving from a stop. Lightweight flywheels can make it a pain to drive in traffic and you may need to blip between shifts to prevent bogging. It's all basically up to you and what you want to live with. The lighter the flywheel the more you will notice these things.

Stock z6 is 19 lbs, right? Oh and as for the flywheel, I have the 10 lb. Exedy Streetlite and i love it. I was afraid of going too light on the flywheel because i've heard (from many sources but i yet have to confirm it myself) of having more difficulty going up hills.

Well i went with the 10.5 exedy flywheel and a oem exedy clutch disc and pressure plate. It will be about a week before i install it, but i'll weigh the stock one and let you guys know how it works.

Well the 10.5 flywheel makes the revs drop a little bit faster than the stock D16Z6 17lb. flywheel.

...as expected.

Putting a lighter flywheel is not always a good idea. Specially on a stock motor and being a D series single cam.
The fly needs weight so it can have mass to keep it spinning since the motor doesn't have enough power to keep it spinning.

On a stock motor a stock fly is always best.
There's a way to modify a lightened flywheel to spin better.
You can add a weight to the edge of the fly so it can keep momentum and still have the advantage of quick revs.
