3rd Annual Tail of the Dragon run/meet!!

As Co-Mod of this forum, I would like to look at a possible run on the dragon in the summer of 2010. I know the JDMCC meet is scheduled for early next year. So the summer sounds like a good time for a run. I'm posting this now because it seems like noone ever has enough time to make it out to the run. So here is the tentative date May 15th and 16th. I would like to see this forum's participation. The south needs to represent and show the north that we can put together big annual meets also. Let's take this serious. I know Mportedcivicsi will make the 8 hour drive from Virginia Beach. Soooo...all the Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida peeps should represent as well. Especially those that live close to the Dragon. Open to discussion. We have plenty of time to come up with a concrete date. But as for now May 15th and 16th is it.

Dragon Run is set for October 16th. Due to the rock slide on the Dragon. Plenty of time to get the weekend off. So boys and girls, mark your calendar(hopefully a JDMCC calendar).

Dragon Run October 16th. Meeting at Hooters in Alcoa, TN at 11am for food and then heading out.
Sunday the 17th we will be rolling to Fall IA, so get there!

Yep, sounds good to me. I am off May 14th so I could head out on Thursday after work :) Video camera and DSLR will be ready to shoot! Lets get together people and have some fun!

I vote for a new date being that the East Coast Honda Meet in Richmond is just 2 weeks after this date (29 May). Funds are tight for everyone and for a hopeful showing at the Tail of the Dragon I suggest moving to maybe August 7/8...Up for response...

August 7th and 8th people!! It's going to a be awesome. The dragon has been shut down because of a rock slide. So when we all get up there we are gonna have a blast. Tons of photos will be taken. Let's do this people. A mad JDMCC showing. This is the 3rd time we have planned this event. Let's make it the best!!!

Jason, are we moving this date again?...lol. Do we want to just make the weekend of IA the Dragon run as well? I know I can make one weekend but not sure about two...

Kenny, Tail of the Dragon is a stretch of US Route 129 running between NC/TN. Its an 11 mile stretch that has 318 turns. Its a blast to drive and sadly the 1st and 2nd Annual events only had Jason (B18C Inside) and myself in attendance. Here is a link to more info on it...

Well due to a rock slide, the dragon is closed to thru traffic right now. TDOT is saying that it won't be opened back up until like July or something crazy. So it would have to be towards the middle of August for sure. I'll keep this updated as I find out more news.

Just to keep my word about updates and such. We have decided to move the date back to October. Due to the rock slide. Traffic will be mad crazy once it opens up. So just maybe by October traffic won't be real bad still. So I was thinking about the middle of the month which would be the 16th and 17th. Open for discussion. Let me hear what you all think about the month of October and what weekends would you all like better. Talk it up!! Let's make the 3rd annual Dragon Run a total blast.

when i first learned about tail of the dragon a while back i was really excited to go, unfortunately i live 16+ hours from there =O. Pics would be awesome for those of you attending in 3 weeks :-D

wow, sorry this response took so long. I need to start getting on here more often like I was :) But yes sir I made it out to IA...I might have taken pics of your car lol but yeah I was really upset that I couldn't make it out to the dragon run. Was really excited about it, then my car went down :(
