hey guys i just got the swap done...d15b vtec into a 93 dx..n e ways its runs perfect i did the timing hooked all the right sensors...my temp gauge jumps up and down...when i idle its at right temp and when i step on the gas the temp gauge goes down...i checked the alt and put a new thermostat in earlier but same problem...could it be that i have not enough coolant....i topped it off now im stumpted...maybe tighten the alt a lil more..just need some feedback or if n e thing else someone can suggest..thanks

sounds like you got air bubbles in the coolant..... there should be a bleed valve where the top Radiator hose goes into the motor.... "the metal jacket" if im not mistaken its a 12 mm wrench that is needed... you pretty much open it while the motor is off then you turn on the car and let it idle you give it some throttle till only water comes out of the lil vavle and when only water is coming out you tighten it while holding the idle..... that should do it....

already tried that....seriously....tommorow morning im gonna change the cap where the thermostat goes...the sensor could be f**ed? im using the stock one off my d15b non vtec...it was working before...but ill try bleeding it again...i thought i bled my clutch good and today found out there was air still in so...got that fixed a buddy and this new clutch and flywheel combo is sweet.

the sensor you are talking about is not a water temp sensor... its a Radiator Fan Switch Sensor....

hey luis thx for the help..i figured out what the problem is...under the distributor there is a thermal sensor..it wasnt secured all the way..so when i hit a bump is loosened and that cause the temp to drop to 0..problem solved by securing it cuz the clip was loose.
