I figured i would start a buildup this pic best represents my 2 coupes, keep in mind i don't claim to be a good photographer and my camera is a 2.1mp polaroid

back in 2002 at the ripe age of 15 I wanted to have a car for when I would get my license that fall...I first wanted a ford escort gt because i liked the look of them...then I saw TF&TF and loved the black civics on there, so then i started looking for a civic, i wanted a coupe from the start...i found one after a lot of searching (not many imports in southern IL) in Decatur, IL after looking through a wheels and deals from a gas station, I was up there with my dad getting furniture from my grandparents, in the ad was a teal EJ2 with 168k automatic, so we called and went to see it that day, the guy was asking $2400 but being that my dad is a salesman and the guy wanted the money to get married in Las Vegas, he immediately went down to $2000, then after inspecting the car the owner, which said he had done all maintenence at the local Honda dealer, noticed that the valve cover gasket was leaking, so he knocked off another $100 to cover for that....so I got my first car for $1900
I drove it home with my permit from Decatur...it was a 2 hour drive...and I fell in love with it...of course the first thing I did when I got home and got it licensed was to rice it out...like i said it was 2002 and TF&TF influenced me


it had the 16 niche bahns, altezzas, swapped the gold emblems for silver ones, system, so i rolled that for a year and a half

then fall 2004 rolled around and I found jdmc while doing a paper for school, I was amazed at the cars on there, so i wanted to go the clean route, I started looking for a manual because my sister wanted a civic and i would just find a manual coupe and sell her mine, then I found a milano red coupe in autotrader in Effingham, IL which is a town that was 25 minutes away...called the guy and went to see it...I had never driven a manual before so my dad test drove it, he was impressed at the power of the little d16z6, it was riced with dual exhaust, body kit, crappy carbon fiber hood, painted interior pieces, altezzas, aem intake, cam gear, system, wing etc. no pics from when i first bought it but here's pics from when the body kit was on and the car was just waxed, I put tyc projecters on it and apr mirrors

glad to see you finally got a build thread going man. don't be ashamed of how your car looked or now looks. just floss what you have and be proud of it. almost everybody here has a car that is a "work in progress" so we understand how you feel. i've been driving around with a crappy front bumper and hood for over 4 months and just keep taking pictures anyways, lol. if you can find some new wheels sometime this summer i will make the drive over to shoot some pics with you. ;) :TU:

i like my falkens..they are very sticky for what they are and since i do alot of o`"offroading" im not riding falkens as of this moment since i sold my wheels. plus i havent had a problem of them running off the beads or sidewall malfunctions opposed to customers who bring in kuhmos...but must be luck. rawk the falkens and be cool!

a 205 195 setup is very japanese tuner like.


205/50/15 vs 195/50/15 is a very good setup for racing as it will allow the rear to rotate a bit more.

i did today to wax the whole hood, but like i said earlier that bra hides the paint problems with the hood, it's bubbled and white primer is showing through, it's also starting to rust, so for now it's a quick fix to hide the flaws in the hood, here's what it looks like without the bra, you can see the white spots that is the primer from the crack and bubbled paint

well, it's on, kind of more than what i thought it would be to put it on, i had to jack it up, rip off the fender lining, take off the front wheels, and now my fender lining is scraping the ground because I broke a ziptie that was there...
it's a perfect fit, and it's on there pretty good, it totally changes the look of the car imo, a good piece for the money, sorry no during pics, i was sweaty and wanted to get it done

wow, i'm on the first page again haha, humidity ate the double stick tape on the lip, but my dad came up for 4th of july yesterday and we put more screws in it and it's there to stay now, also fixed a saggy sideskirt, and did the hood tilt the right way, i like it...my internet has been down since tuesday morning, that's why i haven't been online lately, my mudflaps came in today (thanks Brent), at least the fedex tracking number said so, i'm at work so I don't know for sure, more parts coming soon! hehe, and i'll throw up some pics if i can tonight

EJ2 received a reviving headgasket yesterday, oil change and coolant is all that's left and it'll be roaming the streets once again, i'm gonna get some pics this weekend

there won't be much money spent on the tealy, it's more of a daily driver for my sister, but it does the job, and gets good mileage, and will probably run another 220k without a problem

ok, did a lot of work today, the EJ2 is running excellent again and drove it today, the EJ1 received a full oil change and new platinum bosch plugs, and i got the mudflaps installed too, with no problems...i try to snap pics of both soon!

eagle emblems?? what are those? looks good though, but i'm not feelin' the hood tilt, us honda guys gotta leave that to the drifters. And luis is right, get ngk or denso plugs, i like the denso iridiums, they're $50 a set but well worth it IMO.

i had to drill new holes because jdm license plates are bigger

Brown switch goes into the acc part of the fuse box... #2 is for going on with your parking lights. i put it on #5 so it is on when the radio is on. I had it like that cause my alarm used the #2 and i didnt want my alarm to blink my fogs when I armed and disarmed it.

Yeah, 215 and 225 espesially will be much too wide for a 6.5" wheel.
I have 215 on my 16x7 wheels, and those tires are also a little wide (protects the lip though).
195 or 205 would be my choices... I used 195/50 before, and it was ok.
But my new 215/40-16 Eagle F1s kick ass, I tell you :D

I love the way it looks on black rims, new zenki lugnuts are on too, and replaced a stripped lug on the back with another stocker, I didn't have a big enough socket to get the rear hub off to get extended studs put in
