i've been thinking about this for a few days, now. which does the integra count as, a hatch/liftback, or a coupe? i thought i saw something in honda tuning a while back about an older teg that got a JDM rear makeover that was more coupe-ish.. but idk. your guys' thoughts?

offficially it's a hatch, but i like to call it a "liftback coupe".

i was thinking about doing a front end conversion to a usdm dc2 front end, and figuring out some way to use integra rear lights.. but i think that might be too rice, what do you think? lol. then it'd officially be a real coupe!

that's a good one, that's what they call the 240sx/180sx and it has a hatch.

don't do it! it looks hideous, there's a couple civics around where i live that have that done. It really doesn't look right, the front sticks out real far, besides, that front-end doesn't look that good in the first place, if anything, do the 98-01 JDM ITR conversion, i've seen that before and it doesn't look half bad.

a teggy is considered a 3door... a 3 door is a HATCH!

my old 240sx was a 3 door and its a fast back and my coupe has a trunk thats not connect to the rear window...thats the way i c it. but then in my reasoning the crx would be a fast back which would be false...lets just leave it at 3 door =P

I'll say the Integra is a liftback.
IMO:
A hatch is two folded (often atleast), and has a vertical rear window.
The liftback has a tail, but the window is a part of the trunk lid.
A coupe has a pretty flat rear window, that doesn't connect to the trunk lid.
Ok by definition then:
Pronunciation: 'hach-"bak
Function: noun
: an automobile the back of which consists of a hatch that opens upward; also : the back itself
Main Entry: cou·pé
Variant(s): or coupe /kü-'pA, 2 often 'küp/
Function: noun
Etymology: French coupé, from past participle of couper to cut, strike
1 : a four-wheeled closed horse-drawn carriage for two persons inside with an outside seat for the driver in front
2 usually coupe : a 2-door automobile often seating only two persons; also : one with a tight-spaced rear seat and a trunk

there's no way to escape the fact that it's a hatchback, it's all good though cuz i can fit mad stuff back there.

i would consider a integra a fast back...at least thats what i always though it was....but then again i have heard from some people that anything with 2 doors is considered a coupe...but that does'nt make sense cause what about the hatch....hmmm

i was thinking about buying a teg....but the fact that its a HATCHback, the rear window really annoyed me since it was shaped differently, and was kinda hard to see out of....so i just opted to put an integra motor in my COUPE!!!! fair enough to me

i was thinkin know..is the crx a notch back or a hatchback now ..dun dun DUN!!!
OniFactor

Notchback is a form of automobile body that is characterized by a sharp vertical drop-off from roof to trunk, as opposed to hatchback or fastback. The notchback is usually a synonym for sedan, although many coupé cars are notchbacks as well. Notchback can also refer to liftback or hatchback vehicles, if there is a discontinuous line from roof to rear fender.
hmmm... the plot thickens

next up on the list... The Del Sol!
it's the same chassis as the hatch, but it doesn't have a rear hatch.. Discuss!

lift back, fast back and hatch back all mean the same thing. The reason they change the wording is to identify between a FWD car and RWD car.
so why did the 80 to 83 toyota come as a hatch and a liftback?

Thats real simple. The celica got A name change abviously because they went from a trunk to a hatch. Edwin what are you talking about man? you know that toyota never put out a celica hatch and a lift back. they are all coupes or lifts. They change the name according to what country they go to. It is a fact that anything RWD coming out of japan with a hatch is known as a liftback. Plus they a80 to 83 toyota lso needed to lable it a liftback since they used the same platform for the supra! and who the **** would buy a hatchback supra! Noone because they would have thought it was FWD. so there
and I dont need proof for my "hypothesis" onifactor
I know my shit. look up the word and then you might think about using it in the right context.

Would yall consider Da's coupes or hatches? I love Da's and im still kinda confused on getting an Ej1 or a Da. The reason for the question is I love this site and if i do get a Da i still wanna be able to post here.

DA's are integras so that makes them a hatch.
